nacki.live is permanently closed

This project was an independent, community-built explorer, and I’ve decided to shut it down because continuing to operate it is no longer sustainable for me.

A reliable explorer needs always-on infrastructure and ongoing engineering work. For Acki Nacki specifically, several things make this especially hard and expensive:

  1. Node and data access are costly and constrained.

As far as I know, you can’t just run your own unrestricted node and indexer. You either need:

    • a paid license for node software, or
    • to rely on other nodes, which in my experience don’t expose all required or full historical data in a convenient way.

Both options raise costs and complexity.

  2. Adoption and support haven’t followed.

I expected mainnet to bring more users, growth, and collaboration opportunities. That hasn’t happened. User activity and ecosystem support are too low to justify the ongoing investment, and I haven’t received clear interest or support from the Acki Nacki team.

  3. Things break often.

The network changes frequently, and keeping the explorer accurate and online takes significant time and effort.

Taken together, these issues mean that continuing to operate nacki.live is not economically viable for me.

Thank you to everyone who used it, sent feedback, or supported the project while it was running.
